Self is the first "you" we have to reckon with.

Especially the “self” that you don’t even recognize

If we persist and insist, this “self” will ultimately be recognized. If we choose to. The postive force and energy in our universe outweighs the negative one. That is why optimism is a very powerful energy.

Do you think we can ever truly know who we are?

Let me explain how i think about it.

We are made up of 4 components

1-The body, which is composed of oxygene, hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon, and menerals. The ingredints of earth.

2-The soul, which creates the sense of time, free will, and life.

3- The mind, which is the processing unit of the soul.

4- The self. Which is the combination of 1,and 2,and3.

When the three work in harmony and unison, the self would be in optimal state. But that is the challenge.

The mind needs a Point of Reference in order to function properly. Such as your stance from Gazza. Your point of reference is morality, and your free will made that choice. Your body reacts along. Therefore, you self feels high since the 3 components worked in harmony.

The self is a sophisticated, intricate amalgamation of traits. Love, hate, curiousity, jealousy, competing, greed, truthfulness, deception, sensitivity, haste, seduction, fear, mercy, empathy, ruthlessness, shyness, etc…etc.

Our minds process these traits in a certain situation, where the freewill kicks in to make a decision based on our point of reference, where we manifest the “self.”

We unconsciously recognize this process. Thus we know ourselves.

I agree with this. I've read somewhere else as well that our body needs harmony between our thoughts, words and actions for it to work well in terms of health as well. However, I've also found out overtime that sometimes you don't know how you would react in a certain situation until you are in it. That's why I was wondering if it's possible to fully understand who you are, especially on the primitive level.

Never ever completely but at least understand your inner dinamyc of emotion's and values. At least knowing yourselves in terms of where we feel good or not

It's a strange concept to not fully know who you are yourself. Writing truly helps me with this. Thank you for your comment.

Jajajaja you believe you know yourself to the fullest. So you know when you are gonna change and what you going to learn over the experience of life. We never really understand ourselves if our perspective is complete is a cage to set who you can be.
