I live in a world
where innocent people are bombed
in Gaza, in Sudan
where everyone knows it is a genocide
yet our leaders tell us everything is fine
that we are the good guys
as we send more bombs to fall on their homes
I live in a world
where people line up for the new iPhone
despite its price being measured
by the lives of children in Congo
I live in a world
where parents leave their own behind
risking all, yet hope to find
a way to feed strangers, gentle and kind
I live in a world
where mothers are violated
on the slaughtered bodies
of their beloved children.
I live in a world
where her ears ache
with the screams of daughters
facing the same cruel fate
I live in a world
where she is forced to watch
her baby struggle to remain afloat
as heโs thrown in a well
by cowards who call themselves men
I live in a world
where writers lift their pens
then set them back down
their stories buried
beneath the screams of the innocent
You live in a world ๐
Where hopes make miracles
When you fight for it
With no fears.
You live in a world ๐
Where the lifespan of lies
Is short. When lies transform into
Delighting truth.
You live in a world ๐
When power breeds
Its own destruction.
You live in a world ๐
When your words resonate
To the ears and eyes of God.
Such powerful and moving words, you captured the pain and injustice with such clarity and heart.
Thank you for using your voice to shed light on what so many are forced to endure.
Your poem is incredible.๐ค๐ค
